Macquarie Dinner Forum

The Macquarie Dinner Forum is a more formal presentation, with high caliber speakers who share leading edge information and ideas. It is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to these high level business and opinion leaders, and to experience first hand, how they work and what drives them. It is also an avenue that broadens relationships within the Alumni, student body, MGSM and business leaders.

We're all inspired by a great adventure, and the name Hillary is synonymous with adventure - ever since Sir Edmund Hillary made the first ascent of Mt Everest, the world's highest mountain, back in 1953.

Peter Hillary made his 2nd ascent of Mt Everest in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the climbing of Mt Everest by his father, Sir Edmund. When Peter first climbed Everest in 1990, he made history as the first son to have followed in his father's footsteps to the summit of the world's highest mountain. In 1999 they did it again, with Peter's expedition in Antarctica, they became the first two generations of one family to establish new routes across Antarctica to the South Pole

Peter Hillary's life is a testament to setting goals and achieving them. His skill, driving ambition, and good judgment have enabled him to summit mountains and survive ferocious storms and avalanches. He is a communicator, a storyteller and a skilled assessor of what works and what doesn't in critical situations. With a history of world class achievements in climbing, he is an inspiring adventurer from one of the great families of mountaineering. Like his father, Sir Edmund Hillary, who made the first ascent of Mt Everest in 1953, Peter has submitted Everest and reached the South Pole on skis, forging a new route across Antarctica. The names Everest and Hillary are forever linked, and Peter continues to climb in the Himalayas and raise funds to support schools and hospitals for the people of the Everest region in Nepal.

We hope that you will join MGSM in celebrating our achievements and contributions by you and the school to the global community at this very special and inspiring event. We will also be making our presentation to World Vision Australia of the monies raised from our Papua New Guinea Literacy Appeal.
